Players who complete everything there is to do in Pokémon Unbound are rewarded with the Black Trainer Card, which lets you upgrade your Stat Scanner to the maximum level.

Your regular trainer card is given to you at the start of your journey. With this initial standard card, completing certain requirements will earn you stars that appear at the top of your trainer card. You’ll need to collect five stars to transform your regular trainer card into a black trainer card.

These are the requirements to get your Black Trainer Card in Pokémon Unbound:

  1. Defeat the Elite Four and become Champion
  2. Complete every mission in the game
  3. Complete the National Pokedex
  4. Hit a 100-win streak at Antisis City’s Ring Challenge
  5. Obtain all Gold Prints at the Battle Frontier

While these stars can be collected in any order, the Battle Frontier star is likely to be the most time-consuming.

For that, you must get Gold Prints at every Battle Frontier facility, requiring you to get 50-win streaks at every facility.

You can interact with the data computers there to track your progress. The only exception there is at the Battle Sands facility, where you must speak with the organizer to see your record.

Function

In addition to being an excellent way to show off your completionist status to others, the Black Trainer Card also lets you upgrade your Stat Scanner.

To do this, go to Professor Log’s lab with the Stat Scanner in your Cube and speak with the assistant to the left of the entrance.

The assistant will upgrade your scanner, letting you alter almost every stat of any Pokemon you want.

To do this just open the Stat Scanner, click on the Pokemon you want to alter, and you’ll be able to change their ability, nature, gender, level, EVs, IVs, and hidden power. You can also evolve the Pokemon if it meets the prerequisites, though Pokemon who require evolutionary items will still evolve the usual way.
