Setting What It Does
General Options
R-Button Mode Changes what the R-Button can be used for in the overworld.
L-Button Mode Changes what the L-Button can be used for in the overworld (but also in other places for L=A).
Save Prompts The game will ask you if you want to save at key moments.
Skip Cutscenes Skip certain story cutscenes.
Puzzle Difficulty Change the difficulty of overworld puzzles.
Auto Item Sort Auto sorts the Cube’s Items sector either by Name, Type or by Amount.
Quick HM If you interact with something that you can use an HM on, your Pokemon will use the HM and not ask you first.
Frame Changes the default window frame.
Battle Options
Battle Effects Can be used to turn off most of the animations that play in battle.
Battle Style Changes whether the game will ask you if you want to switch Pokemon after defeating a Trainer’s Pokemon.
Battle Difficulty Can be used to decrease the difficulty of Trainer battles. Harder modes are only available at the start of the game. There is no flip-flopping between Vanilla and harder modes to gain more Exp. throughout the course of the game. Difficult mode may still be accessed from Vanilla mode, however.
Item Restrictions Rules for using items in Trainer battles.
Exp. Gain Can be used to give Exp to your entire party after defeating a Pokemon. An optional level-cap also presents here.
Quick Run Set the button combination for fleeing quickly.
Team Preview Show prompt to view enemy team.
Last Used Ball Show prompt to use last Poké Ball.
Fast Messages If enabled, the game won’t pause for a certain period of time after displaying a message in battle.
Type Icons Displays type icons next to the health bar in all battles, not just Camomons.
Nickname Offer Offer to nickname a caught, given or bought Pokémon.
Take Wild Item Put a caught Pokémon’s item in the Cube.
Audio Options
Overworld Theme Can be used to override the default music that plays in the overworld.
Wild Theme Can be used to override the default music that plays in wild battles.
Trainer Theme Can be used to override the default music that plays in Trainer battles.
Audio Quality Set the quality of all game audio.
Speakers Changes the default audio output to either stereo or mono.
Sound Effects Can be used to turn off in-game sound effect.
Background Music Can be used to turn off background music.
Bike & Surf Music Can be used to turn off themes when biking and surfing.
