Pokémon Unbound features Pokémon from the Galar region, part of the eighth generation of Pokémon games. But Pokémon from that region won’t initially spawn in a new game.
Activating Generation 8 encounters requires you to register at least one Pokémon from the Galar region in your Pokedex. There are two primary ways to do this:
- Acquire any Gen 8 Pokémon via trading
- Or use Mystery Gift to acquire a Gen 8 Pokémon like Zarude
Trading can be done through Unbound Cloud, but that can still be more tedious than the Mystery Gift option. So Mystery Gift is generally the best recommended approach.
Before you can do Mystery Gifts you must first defeat the Elite Four.
Once you do that, you can look at our list of Mystery Gift codes to give the code at any PokéCenter.
After the activation, you can randomly encounter available Galar region Pokémon in the wild like any other wild Pokémon.
Additionally, the DexNav will randomly encounter Gen 8 Pokémon when you roam an area while setting the R button to DexNav.
