The easiest way of acquiring a Sun Stone in Pokemon Unbound is by defeating the sun trio on Route 6. Another easy way to obtain Sun Stone is hidden on the dirt path on the northern side of Route 6.
Alternatively, Sun Stones can be found in several other locations such as the Great Desert, Vivill Woods, and Route 17. You may also find them on wild Solrock as held items (5% chance) or through drops by Pokemon from numerous Raid Dens.
Once-only Methods
Location #1 – Route 6 (1st Spot)
Start by flying to Auburn Waterway:
Step 1: Head through the tunnel to reach Route 6.

Step 2: Move towards the north till you reach a sign and a trainer guarding the path. The area splits into two portions here.

Step 3: Follow the area towards the northwest, covered by patches of grass.
Continue on this path and use the stairs at the end to head down.

Step 4: There are three trainers guarding the path here. You must battle and defeat each of them.

Step 5: The Sun Stone will be your reward after defeating the final trainer from the sun trio.

Location #2 – Route 6 (2nd Spot)
Start by flying to Auburn Waterway
Step 1: Head through the tunnel to reach Route 6.

Step 2: Move towards the north till you reach a sign and a trainer guarding the path. The area splits into two portions here.

Step 3: Follow the path towards the north and head across the bridge. Another trainer guards the path here.

Step 4: The Sun Stone is hidden in the dirt, 2 tiles south and 1 tile east of the trainer.

Location #3 – Cinder Volcano
Start by flying to Cinder Volcano (Route 4):
Step 1: Head into the cave and use the ladder at the end of the room to head down to B1F.

Step 2: Surf in the lava here and move towards the north.
Keep surfing till you reach the trainer across the bridge.

Step 3: Move further northeast and hop back onto the piece of land here.

Step 4: Follow this path to its end and go up the stairs leading to the area with a trainer and Cinder Volcano’s Raid Den.

Step 5: The Sun Stone is hidden in the rock at the bottom corner of this area.

Location #4 – Great Desert
Start at Dehara City’s PokeCenter:
Step 1: Go straight up and head towards the gate situated at the eastern end of the city.

Step 2: Go through the gate and come out the other side to reach the Great Desert.

Step 3: Head towards the eastern side of the desert and continue on this path until you arrive at a breakable rock.

Step 4: When you see the breakable rock, go towards the south and go across the canyon until you reach a trainer patrolling the area.

Step 5: Move further south from the patrolling trainer until you arrive at another trainer standing in the desert, facing southwards.

Step 6: The Sun Stone is inside the PokeBall next to this trainer.

Location #5 – Vivill Woods
Start at Gurun Town’s PokeCenter:
Step 1: Walk to the northern end of the town to reach and enter Vivill Woods.

Step 2: Once in the woods, head towards the east until you arrive at a trainer patrolling the area through a patch of grass.

Step 3: Take a few steps to the north to reach a diversion.
There’s another trainer here and the path splits into two.

Step 4: Continue on the path towards the north.
Use Surf in the small pond that’s here and go across it.

Step 5: The Sun Stone is inside the PokeBall on this little piece of land.

Location #6 – Route 17
Start at Seaport City’s PokeCenter:
Step 1: Head to the west and exit the city.
Continue in this direction till you reach the stairs in front of the sign on Route 17.

Step 2: From the staircase, move south where you’ll find a trainer patrolling the area.

Step 3: From this trainer, head west where you’ll be confronted by another trainer patrolling through a patch of grass.

Step 4: Head across the bridge at the end of this path and go up the stairs at the end of this bridge.

Step 5: From here, move towards the west, past the trainer hiding in the bushes.
Continue on this path till you reach the stairs at its end.

Step 6: Move down the stairs and use Rock Smash on the breakable rock to your right.

Step 7: The Sun Stone is on the ground hidden behind the tree in the corner.
