The DexNav is an upgraded version of the Pokedex that makes encountering Wild Pokemon easier.
You must select a specific Pokemon from the DexNav’s search section to initiate identifiable phenomena like rustling grass and dust in caves.
Location
Fly to the Blizzard City Pokemon Center after catching at least 15 Pokemon, and from the Pokecenter just go east.

Take the first turn north and continue on the path.

Enter the house just west of the Pokemon Mart.

Climb to the second floor using the staircase.

Interact with the closed doors on the second floor to open them.

The female scientist NPC inside the room is Professor Log’s sister.
Speak with her after catching or evolving at least 15 different Pokemon to upgrade your Pokedex to include the DexNav.

Function
To use the DexNav, go to the in-game settings page and ensure the R button is used for DexNav scanning.

With that done, go to the area where the Wild Pokemon you’re looking for can be encountered, whether inside a cave or from tall grass.
Open the DexNav and locate that Pokemon from the list of encounterable Pokemon.

Every Wild Pokemon has a search level that indicates how easy it is to encounter it through the DexNav. Encountering a Pokemon multiple times using the DexNav increases the search level, while caught Pokemon have extremely high encounter rates.
After selecting a Pokemon from the DexNav, use the R button to scan for that Wild Pokemon.
You’ll see signs based on your location if the Pokemon is nearby.
For example, if the Pokemon is in tall grass near you, then you’ll see a single patch of grass rustling to indicate it’s there.

On the other hand, if you’re inside a cave then you’ll see a dust cloud indicating the wild Pokémon’s location.
Approaching the Pokemon while running may cause it to flee, so it’s ideal to walk towards the spawn location to encounter a battle.
This is also a necessary way to force special encounters for special post-game Gen 8 Pokemon that can only be encountered via DexNav.
