The Dowsing Machine in Pokemon Unbound is a gift from a researcher in Tehl Town as a reward for catching at least 30 unique Pokémon.
When used, the Dowsing Machine lets you scan for hidden items nearby.
Location
Fly to the Tehl Town Pokemon Center and enter the house to its southwest.
Approach the researcher NPC west of the table.
If you’ve caught at least 30 Pokemon, the researcher will give you the Dowsing Machine.
Function
To use the Dowsing Machine, go to your Cube and use it from the Key Items section.
This will enable the Dowsing Machine, indicated by the symbol in the top-left corner of the screen. The symbol will be a white circle if there are no nearby hidden item.
The symbol turns into an arrow pointing toward a hidden item whenever it detects something. The arrow points in the direction of the hidden item.
You’ll notice that the arrow also changes color depending on how close you are, with red being the closest.
If the arrow turns into a star icon, this indicates you’re looking at the hidden item and just need to interact with whatever’s in front of you to get it.
