The Old Rod, given to you by the fisherman on Route 7, is the worst rod in Pokémon Unbound.
However, it’s good enough to ensure you can catch at least some basic Water-type Pokémon from rivers and other bodies of water.
Location
Fly to the Frost Mountain entrance on Route 7 and go south before going east.
Enter the house to your south by going down the stairs.
Approach the fisherman NPC inside the house sitting at the table. This fisherman will give you the Old Rod for free.
Function
Like the other two rods in the game, the Old Rod is used to fish for Water-type Pokemon by facing a large body of water like a pond or river.
Just use it from the Cube to lower the fishing rod and press the A button when the screen alerts you of a caught Pokemon to start the encounter.
