Stat Scanner
Location	Professor Log’s Lab – Given by Professor Log’s assistant after registering 50 caught Pokémon species. Not available in the game’s vanilla difficulty until the post-game.
Description	A device used to view the hidden stats and movesets of Pokémon. It is not for the average Trainer.
Features	The Stat Scanner lets you view your Pokémon’s complete stats and movesets. You can also upgrade it to turn it into a portable Move Tutor and EV/IV changer.

The Stat Scanner in Pokémon Unbound shows your Pokémon’s hidden stats and movesets.

You can upgrade this item using the Notebook to teach your Pokémon moves, or further upgrade it with the Black Trainer Card to tweak things like EVs, IVs, or even gender.

Inside, approach the assistant standing west of the entrance.

If you’ve caught at least 50 unique species of Pokemon, the assistant will give you the option to acquire the Stat Scanner.

Note: You can’t claim the item if you’re playing in the Vanilla difficulty until you reach the post-game.

Function

The Stat Scanner is used to see all the stats and movesets of your Pokemon. While the item is originally usable by speaking with the Professor’s assistant, you’ll obtain the item for yourself to use whenever you want after you capture 50 unique Pokemon species.

The Stat Scanner has two distinct upgrades you can take advantage of.

The first upgrade is through the Notebook, acquired as a reward for completing Mission #013: Basic Literacy. Speak with the assistant again after obtaining it to turn the Stat Scanner into a portable Move Tutor.

With the Notebook upgrade, you can teach your Pokemon moves taught by the standard Move Tutors at the Battle Frontier for the standard Battle Points price or relearn forgotten moves by paying a Heart Scale.

Use the L and R buttons to navigate between the four available pages. The first is for level-up moves, the second is for TM and HM moves, the third is for Egg Moves, and the final is for moves that can be taught via Move Tutors. Unlearnable moves are highlighted in red while learned moves are blue.

The second Stat Scanner upgrade is available after you acquire a Black Trainer Card. To get it, you must:

Become the Champion
Obtain all Gold Prints at the Battle Frontier
Complete the National Pokedex
And complete a 100-win streak at Antisis City’s Ring Challenge

After you do all of that, speak with the Professor’s assistant again after acquiring the card to upgrade the Stat Scanner further.

The Black Trainer Card upgrade lets you use the Stat Scanner to alter your Pokémon’s EVs, IVs, gender, level, nature, or ability.

You can also evolve the Pokémon using the start button, though Pokémon with Evolutionary Item requirements must be evolved the usual way.
