Description | A device that indicates trainers who want to battle. The battery charges while traveling. |
Features | Scans nearby trainers who want to rematch the player. Rematchable trainers start jumping when the player uses the VS Seeker. |
The VS Seeker is given to you by the Ace Trainer NPC inside the house directly east of the Blizzard City Pokemon Center.
To use it, you must interact with it from the bag, and it will automatically scan nearby trainers.
Prerequisites
- Complete the main story up until Blizzard City
Location
Fly to the Blizzard Town Pokemon Center and enter the house directly east of it – the first one that has a front door.

Once inside, climb the stairs and go up to the second floor.

Follow the path forward and interact with the closed wooden doors to go inside the room.

Speak with the Ace Trainer inside this room to get the VS Seeker.

Function
The VS Seeker is used to seek out trainers who are open to rematch.
When you use this key item from the cube it will scan for nearby trainers who want to battle you again.
The NPCs who want a rematch must be visible on the screen when using the VS Seeker for them to be recognized. Each defeated trainer on screen will get either an:
- X mark over their head – indicating they aren’t ready for a rematch
- Exclamation mark over their head – which means you can battle them again
It’s important to note that every trainer outside in the overworld is rematchable, but trainers in caves and buildings are not.

Additionally, the VS Seeker must be recharged after using it once.
Luckily the VS Seeker will recharge just by you walking around the overworld.
Using the device after you’ve just used it will inform you of how many steps you must take until it’s been fully recharged.
