The Great Desert is east of Dehara City and is the only way to reach Gurun Town. To be allowed onto the desert you need the Go-Goggles from the main questline. There are a lot of optional trainers here as well as a lot of Pokémon to catch, included those hidden in Fossils obtained through Rock Smash.
