Be in the post-game Start the Portal Purge mission Make sure it’s nighttime

Fly to the Magnolia Town Pokemon Center at night and exit the town going east.

Take the first turn south after exiting the town.

Continue on the path. You’ll eventually have to turn north instead of continuing east toward the island’s edge.

The cuttable trees will indicate you’re on the right path.

Go west after cutting the first tree and continue on the path without turning.

Go north when you can’t go west anymore to find more cuttable trees.

The portal with Blacephalon is behind these trees.
