Be in the post-game Start the Portal Purge mission Ensure it’s night

Fly to the Epidimy Town Pokemon Center at night. Then head south.

Enter Thundercap Mountain from this entrance.

Once inside, follow the path forward.

Climb the ladder to the upper level.

From here, climb the east platform.

Climb the north wall using Rock Climb as soon as you descend from the platform.

Then keep going north until you can go down some stairs. After the staircase just follow the path going south.

You’ll eventually see the portal with Xurkitree to your left, reachable using Rock Climb.
