Victory Road – 1F

The Victory Road caverns are the only obstacle remaining between you and the Pokémon League. It’s a fairly long and dangerous path, but there’s something at the entrance that should help with that.

The Chansey here will heal your Pokémon, you’ll just need to keep coming down to it periodically if the trainers here get a little overwhelming.
The way forward to the second floor is currently blocked, so climb the rocks down to the east.

You’ll see a ladder – it leads to the basement floor and a puzzle you need to solve before gaining access to the upper levels.
Victory Road – B1F

When you get down the ladder, go south and surf into the pond.

The pond will turn into a waterfall – ride it down and you’ll make it to the lower part of this cavern.

This whole basement floor is a series of tiered balconies with trainers on them – you need to get to the east side of the top section.

Walk past the staircase until you see a wall you can climb – go up it and you’ll get challenged by Ace Trainer Paul.

Once you’ve beaten him, go east along the ledge and you’ll see another wall to climb – head up it.
Then, go west and climb another rock wall to get to the top level and Ace Trainer Brooke.

After that battle, walk east and you’ll see a one-way ledge for you to jump over. Take it, and continue on east.
The Boulder Puzzle

You’ll see a boulder here, and you need to roll it all the way down three sets of stairs to get to a button.
Make sure not to roll it into a position where you can’t get it out again, or you’ll have to reset by changing floors and coming back.

Two trainers will challenge you on the way down as well, and Black Belt Yoshi is the first of them.
Once he’s out of the way, keep pushing the boulder.

It’s usually better to battle the trainers before they see you with the boulder, because they may mess up your route.
Beat Psychic Gregory and push the boulder to the bottom level.

When you roll the boulder to the button, the ladder to 2F on 1F will now be unblocked. Head back up the waterfall and onto the bridge with the Chansey.
Return to 1F

Cross the bridge north and you’ll run into Super Nerd Avery – then head past him and you’ll see a set of stairs leading to the water.

Surf south then east until you go under the bridge. Aim for the northeast shore once you’re on the other side.

Before you pressed the button, there were two rocks here blocking access. Now they’re gone, and you’re free to head to 2F.
Victory Road – 2F

Once you’re on the second floor, head north across a small pond.

You’ll see a trainer on the way past, but you can ignore her if you wish. Head north, climb the stairs and you’ll be in a tunnel.

At the end of the tunnel is a cave opening to the outside – head on through.

Hedge Maze Tutorial

You’re about halfway through Victory Road, and it’s time to take a bit of a break from the caves.
You’ll now be in a wooded area – head north.

Unfortunately, you’ll need to make your way through a giant hedge maze here. You can refer to the map above, but we’ll guide you through it step-by-step as well.
Take the east path and follow it along until you come to a fork.

Unless you want a Double Battle, take the left path from this fork and continue north for a while.

When you get to the walled-in long grass, head east and then north until you find yourself at another junction.

From that junction, take the lower of the two paths and go west.

You’ll come to a four-way junction – here you should take the southern path, and it will wind all the way around the upper part of the maze until you’re finally free of it.

At the end of the maze is a cave opening, and that will take you to the third floor of the Victory Road caverns.

When you get inside, go west and you’ll see two Ace Trainers waiting to ambush you with a Double Battle.

Defeat them, and continue on west.
Climb the stairs and you’ll be on a raised platform.

If you’re looking for the shortest route out of here, take the north stairs.

Then, go west until you see Pokémon Ranger Chaundra.

Once you’ve beaten her, head through the cave opening and you’ll be outside again. It suddenly got a lot colder.

You’re now on the upper snowy slopes of the mountain that holds Victory Road, and you are closer to the Pokémon League.

Walk west and north up the stairs. Ace Trainer Gilbert is the first to greet you in this new area.

Continue north, passing through patches of snowy long grass and climbing stairs until you see Ace Trainer Julie.
Past her is a longer staircase that will lead to the upper ledge.

Once you get there, walk east.

Going up north leads to a staircase that goes to the last section of Victory Road, but it’s guarded by a pair of Mega Trainers who will not make beating them easy.
Before you take them on, though, climb down the rocks to the south for a little detour.

There’s a cave that will be important in the post-game here, though for now it is empty except for some useful Pokémon to catch.

The Polar Vivillon is to the east of the cave entrance, waiting to be caught or defeated for the mission in Magnolia Town.
Once you’ve seen all to see here, go back to the Mega Trainers.

They’re the last trainers you need to defeat before the Pokémon League, and they’ve got a heavy Double Battle team with them.

If you manage to beat them, the only thing left to do is head north into the last cavern along Victory Road.

That’s right – the last thing before the Pokémon League is an ice puzzle.
It’s a particularly challenging one too.

The Ice Puzzle

If you want to take on the ice puzzle and save some money, you can follow these instructions:
Step 1: Slide north from the left stair tile, to a tall rock.

Step 2: Slide west to a rock.

Step 3: Slide north to the wall.

Step 4: Slide east along the wall to a rock.

Step 5: Slide south along the entire length of the ice to a rock.

Step 6: Slide east to the wall.

Step 7: Slide south to a rock in the corner.

Step 8: Slide west to a rock.

Step 9: Slide north to a platform on the ice.

Step 10: Slide east along the length of the ice to a platform on the other side.

Step 11: Slide north to another platform.

Step 12: Slide west to a rock.

Step 13: Slide south to a platform on the ice.

Step 14: Slide east to a rock.

Step 15: Slide south to a rock. This rock has a hidden Rockium-Z in it, which could be useful to a strong Pokémon that uses Rock-type moves.

Step 16: Slide west to an ice platform.

Step 17: Slide north to a rock.

Step 18: Slide west to a final rock.

Step 19: Slide north to the exit, at last.

You’ve conquered the ice puzzle and are now free to head to the exit of Victory Road.

Once you pass through that hole in the cavern wall, you’ll be at the Pokémon League.
Exiting Victory Road

After eight Gym battles and a journey spanning the length of Borrius, you’re finally here.
Time to take that Pokémon Championship crown.
